Black and White Picture

Take a look at this black and white picture
Its you when you still had hair
From our summer in the desert
We looked a little different out there

And I'd forgot about the way that I met you
Now its all coming back again
When you reappeared in an old coat pocket
Like you're wondering where I've been

Take a look at this black and white picture
Its you when you still had me
We were driving from the valley to the canyon
We were seeing what we wanted to see

And I was hoping you were all forgotten
But here you are at my side once more
And certain feelings try to overtake me
Just like they did before

But seeing you frozen there
Well, it puts my heart to the test
So I wonder what you're doing now
I wonder why it was I left

Then I re-live a certain conversation
And after that we'd always fight
And it was work to keep love colorful
I guess it couldn't be black and white

Like this black and white picture
Of you when you still had hair
And our summer in the desert
We looked a little different out there

Well, I'll tape you into this photo album
That I look at every now and then
And there you stand in that shifting sand -
Its good to see your smile again
