The majority of the tickets are reserved though there will be a handful of tickets available to the general public and will cost $5.00 All ticket must be purchased before hand through the producer—no tickets will be sold at the door. Spunky Z is the story about Cricket, a confused teenager, amateur scientist, budding romantic...a boy with a big problem: his mother's cancer. In his struggle to save his mother, he invents a serum that leads to his own addiction, failed romance, and ultimately having to face his mother's mortality.
Donald Whittier has produced seven feature length films since 2001, Spunky Z is the fourth feature length narrative that he has directed. His other directed works include Bulkhead, Teddy, and Fight Circle. Donald specializes in microbudget features and hopes to create, produce and direct a successful, microbudget TV series.

The cast was significantly larger on Spunky Z than on other features
that Banzai! Produced. The key players really stepped up to the line
and went through a huge learning curve—especially Brian Huff who played
the lead role, did an exception job, and had no significant experience
prior to this role. Pam Galle, Runyon Woods, and Adyana de la Torre
played the other lead roles---all bringing to set an energy and focus
that comes across on screen.
The crew, small for such a huge undertaking, held together for the
duration and I can’t thank them enough. Josh Gibson the DP was the
pillar for everyone else---especially when our new DV camera went
crashing to the ground from an unsecured dolly. |

Fight Circle is a feature-length medieval martial arts film shot
in North Carolina in June 2003. The story follows
a young woman, Paky, as she maneuvers her way into
a male-centered fight arena where the victor determines
life or death for his opponent.
The fights convey a level of brutality that is refreshing
and at times shocking for a modern movie. The technical
expertise of the fighters, combined with a compelling
story, promises to captivate audiences with its unique
approach to the martial arts film genre.
Fight Circle's sui generis distribution technique
will be downloads of the full-length movie through
the Internet. Please watch for action at fightcircle.com. |

Joe
Williams album on sale now
"What makes Joe's songs so wonderful? They are
gentle and heartwarming but never cheesy. They are
witty, at times hilarious, but filled with humane
insight, not hollow irony
Silly and sweet, with
cosmic significance."
-Peter Busch, Philadelphia, PA

Even
Singing Frontwards, Williams is Still Squirrely
BY BRAD BARNES, Staff Writer
5/31/02
There's a song on the new album by Chapel
Hill songwriter Joe Williams that'll make you laugh.
Actually there's probably about five songs
on there that'll make you laugh. At least, as long as you're
not too attached to squirrels. More on that later.
